COVENANT AND MISSION
The Covenant of this church shall be to bind together followers of Jesus Christ for the purpose of sharing in the worship of God and in making God’s will dominant in the lives of all people, individually and collectively, especially as that will is set forth in the life, teachings, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We covenant to follow Christ as willing disciples, as servants and as neighbors in fellowship together.

The mission of our church is to embrace discipleship in following Christ in action, service and growing faithfulness.  The mission of our church is to help people satisfy their needs, both spiritually and physically, and as true ambassadors of Christ, to be sensitive and responsive to the needs of the community and the world using the gifts God has provided in a spirit of love and devotion.
Following the teachings of Jesus Christ we believe all people are the children of God and therefore declare ourselves to be an Open and  Affirming congregation and welcome all into the life of our church regardless of but not limited to their gender identity, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, economic status, physical and mental ability, marital status, or age.

The Halifax Congregational Church was established in 1733 and the Sunday School in 1746 making it the oldest Sunday School in the United States.
We host the Halifax Food Pantry, a Girl Scout troop and a Boy Scout troop. a play group, as well as AA.
